Today we were the featured studio PoppyTalk highlighted in their efforts to show artist/designer/crafter’s studios from around the world. This is a continuation of an ongoing series they’ve created. One I enjoy immensely! Everyone enjoys the benefit of a designer’s finished piece, but it’s truly a treat to get a peek behind the scenes and see where the magic takes place. These are the questions each designer is asked:

1) Where in your home/apartment is your studio located?
2) What equipment/tools do you use?
3) Do you have an inspiration board, and can you tell us what is inspiring you now?
4) How do you create best (e.g. do you listen to music while you create and if so what?)
5) List (3) of your favorite artists
6) If yours isn’t, what would be your perfect studio?

As you may know, we’re currently being showcased at Poppytalk Handmade. And now we just got featured in their blog! It’s called called PoppyTalk. Poppytalk Handmade is a monthly online street market curated by Poppytalk to showcase handmade art and goods of emerging design talent from around the world. It’s an amazing little site! It’s kind of like an indie marketplace with monthly “themes”, sort of like a virtual art fair/festival. This month’s theme is a Green/Eco Market that runs from March 10th - April 11th… and we’re featured!

We’re honored and excited to be part of such an amazingly talented group of creatives! You should definitely stop by and take a peek. It’s a great place to discover new and amazing work by emerging/indie designers and artists you probably aren’t familiar with. If you stop by you won’t be disappointed!

We got featured in an amazing blog called Apartment Therapy! Apartment Therapy’s mission is to help people make their homes more beautiful, organized and healthy by connecting them to a wealth of resources, ideas and community online. The name of the post is Etsy Scavenger: Rain. Since the subject was rain, of course our Seattle (view print on Etsy) image was relevant. Here in NY it’s a rainy, glooming day today, so I take comfort in the fact that this rainy AT post brought some happy people to our Etsy shop. Several of which decided to bring the rainy print into their homes.

We just got featured in another blog called House Obsession! The name of the post is Here comes spring… and time for enjoying the outdoors with a camera. Our Lomo Bicycle Series (Etsy) has been getting some attention lately. Of our few sales on Etsy, most of them are the bicycles. Maybe everyone has Spring fever like I do!

We recently got our book featured on Blurb’s homepage under the portfolio section. Yippee! Blurb is a web 2.0 / software / book publishing company. We’ve been using them for 2.5 years now and we love them! We use them to publish our artwork and licensing catalog. We plan on releasing a new catalog later this year. We’ll keep you posted when that actually happens. It will be available for purchase when it’s published.

A little about Blurb. Blurb is based in San Francisco, California. They offer free software, for both Mac and PC, you download from their website site. You use their predesigned templates or create and modify your own. You then insert images, write the copy, and you’re ready to publish. It’s that simple! Like Etsy, they have a great community that makes help a hop, skip and a jump away. If you’re an artist this is a great way to get a professional presentation.

While we haven’t been featured on Etsy’s homepage yet, we did manage to squeak in through the back door. One of our Vintage Travel Advertisement images was used in association with an article. We’re always happy to see our work get as much exposure as it can.

I’ve heard that you cannot get in a Treasury or featured on the homepage if you have watermarks on your images. I’m not sure if this is true or not, but if it is I guess our work won’t be up for consideration. Every one of our images is watermarked.
